Default bad turbo

Alright guys, some of you may remember but i was asking questions about sputtering/fluttering noises a while back. So, i found out that those sputtering noises i hear when i drive is definitely my turbo. I stopped by the stealership to get it looked at by this tech i know. So i revved it up for him a couple times and right away he knew what it was. It just so happens that he was working on an a4 with the same exact problem when i went to see him. We went and checked out that car and he showed me exactly what the bad turbo looked like. The turbine was extremely wobbly and loose. Now that i've explained that, we come to my question. My friend drives a 1.8 TT, i believe its a 2000 but i'm not exactly sure. He had an extra k03 so i bought it off him for 60 bucks today. It only has 1800 miles on it so i'm not worried about any problems with it. My question is, does anyone know if those models had the k03 sport or not. I'm thinking they don't because nothing indicates that it is on the turbo. Even if its not a sport, that just means i will only get 150 hp out of this tubo instead of the stock 170 correct? I just need to know if i can put this in without any problems before i get my hands dirty. Thanks guys

You may want to ask this to the tech you know. I'm not even sure the TT turbo will fit.

yup, I thought the TT's were K04 as well, unless they had an earlier model that wasnt the 225 HP ones. Isnt the TT turbo in a different location, hence wouldnt bolt up to stock location in an A4?

Does the TT use the K04-15 or another model of the K04? I would assume its the K04-15 but might want to make sure. Not positive about this but from my understanding the differnce in the K04-XX's is the way the tube hookups are.

The 225 hp TT uses a k04, the 180 hp TT uses a k03... neither of them will work on an A4. Longitudinal engine vs. Transverse. Bummer...

nevermind, the turbo is from a b5 a4, i misunderstood my friend. But i still don't understand why a k03 from a TT wouldn't fit an a4?

the TT motor is mounted in the engine bay differently, the turbo needs a different housing to actually fit correctly.
