As soon as I sell my old rims I am getting some new wheels/tires.... So hopefully sometime in next month or so. So be honest... I dont want 18's too big for my taste. Was curious If it was possible to run porche calipers... Although Now that I think about it I might just be happy with stage 1 BBK

im currently running Porsche 993TT Caliper and322mm 993TT 2-piece Rotor(ECS stg3 kit). and 17" rims. my ET is 55 though, so i have enourmous amounts of clearance haha..

but all 17s will fit. it's just a matter of if you're going to need spacers or not. find some wheels that you want and we'll be able to tell you if they will clear w/ or w/out spacers..

but if you're going above 332mm then you're going to need to up to 18s..

but a larger wheel doesn't automatically mean a heavier wheel. don't know why you think that. they have lightweight 18s and 19s out there. O.Z. and SSR are always good. as well as Kosig, here's a good 17" and 18" wheel that is lightweight. *16.8lbs for the 18's*---->http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resul...amp;sort=Brand

But a heavier 17 will still be faster than a lighter 18 to a point.

you're talking about a difference that is pretty much impossible to to notice.. no one on this board should even worry about this..

look at any big hp audi roadcoarse car(or any car for that matter). like the 034 VR6T A4, eurocode's BT S4, and wicked's BT S4. they all run lghtweight 18s in favor of bigger brakes.. 034 switched out their 17's to 18'sfor the new Alcons they put on

It will be noticeable enough if you take it to the 1/4mi. How many tuners you know running lightass magnisium wheels? (retorical)

Before you want to make this a stupid debate again, im only saying that you have WAY more options and cost savings going witha 20-22lb 17" vs a 16-18lb 18" wheel. Plus as you know, the lighter you go, the higher the cost.

Agreed, plus I don't track. I do mostly street racing.. I mean umm (nevermind) STREET RACING IS BAD!
If I can get away with 17's to clear a Stoptech or Porche brake setup im all for it.

Isn't there a template from ECS that lets you check the clearence on your 17s? I seem to remember it when I was going for the Porsche upgrade.
