i think lighter car would perform better then a heavier car
does anyone else agree wit me

look and compare the wieght of each car

2002 audi 3.0
manual, quattro®: 3583

2002 audi 1.8t
Manual, quattro®: 3406
I agree. but porsches are sure heavy. yet they can pretty much out corner most any car.

panda your talking about 170 lbs... which car would you want, an a4 or an s4? cause the s4 is about 300 lbs heavier. gonna stand by the a4? with awd, and lots of power, you can muscle yourself through corners.

yeah.. if money is no object... hell, the 3.0 would destroy the 1.8T... obviously. that considering you could rig up a bigger s/c (s/c is better than turbo IMO) than what PES (is that who just came out with teh 3.0 s/c?) offers... remember, money is no object. then you have to find a company to get the ECU done correctly. but yeah...if you're actually asking this question with money as no object... it's pretty damn stupid. the engine weight diff will have such a miniscule effect it isnt really even worth considering.

Maybe you should stick to rifles, and leave the cars to the rest of us.

haha, I know... he set himself up for it. I wonder how long he sticks around? He's like the smelly kid in class.

Course, my saying that, will probably provoke him to stay -- cause he's stubborn like that.

Unless you turbocharged the 3.0, 1.8t would be right with it, superchargers cannot boost like the 1.8t turbos i.e (t3/t4), we have 1.8ts in the 11s 1/4. I would be surprized to see a s/c 3.0 there.

remember ross... money is no object apparently. which means we're rigging up ANY s/c we can find.
and if we put the exact same turbo on the 3.0 and 1.8 (which is how i'm interpreting what you're saying) why do you think they'd run together? the 3.0 would rape the 1.8

Spence, I said unless turbocharging. Take for instance, Daves saleen, only made about 340rwhp from the factory, and it comes modded from the factory obvisouly. Take for intance his old a4, with this old setup, 360+, and it wasnt even fully tuned. Look at toms setup, capable of more then 340rwhp.

v8 s/c

vs

4 cylinder turbo
