well you left out a bunch of other engines but of the three stock the 3.0 is the fastest. but with some upgrades the 1.8t will be faster then the other two.

People around here seem to love the 2.7T, personally - I'm a fan of the 2.0T.....;)

RE: best preformance engine

what years? there are a bunch of different engines for different years. 1.8T have 150 HP and a 0-60 time of 8.7 sec for the quattro 2.8L have 170 HP and 0-60 of 8.8 for the FWD and the 3.0 has 220 and a 0-60 of 7.8 sec. Theres a crapload of other ones to mention but i just don't have the patience at 4 in the morning so research it yourself. this website lists all the specs for like every audi http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/model/12/model.aspx im guessin your looking into buying an audi but stock engine performance isn't the only things to look at. the 1.8T has the lowest stock horsepower but great potential for mods. there are parts out the azz for it and is able to be taken up to 400+ HP while the v6 engine has practically no mods for it and te only way to see a significant gain in HP is to slap on a supercharger. also the drive type is important. I HIGHLY suggest the quattro over the FWD. drive 2 identical audi, one with quattro and one with FWD and u will see what i mean.

well, im looking to get a new sports car, and its either going to be a 2006 Civic SI, or an older Audi A4. I really want a fast, less expensive car and I love both. I found a nice used A4, tell me what you think, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-A4

Can anyone here compare the 2 cars? Which do you think would be more fun for a first time sporty car, best preformance, and speed?

RE: best preformance engine

if your talking least expense go with the honda. anyone can fix them and parts are dirt cheap. if you want a better faster car go with the audi. but not everyone can work on them and parts are more expensive

nice audi in the link tho. i wish i had that kind of money. it'll be a great car if you just wana keep it stock performance wise. besides exhaust there ain't much more to do to it. if your going to want to mod the car then i would go with a 1.8T

I bet no one one this site will agree with this but.... If you can afford the difference between the Audi and the Civic Si I'd buy the SI. It's going to be a lot faster out of the box, and it's going to have a ton more toys to add. Depending on if you want to upgrade the car or not. The K20 motor found in the SI is Monster, It's the Closest thing to a Civic TypeR motor America has ever see.

boo honda's. although the 197 HP is impressive i'd still go with the audi. audi are 100 times more luxurious. if you get a quattro the handling is AMAZING (tho the double wishbone suspension on the SI wont disapoint) when it all comes down to it the audi just looks better and is funner to drive. (not to mention will get you laid a lot more than a honda);)

I agree the Audi is gonna help you get laid. But the Civic actually has great interior. My girlfriend just bought one. I other huge point The Civic Will be Brand New, not used. Oh and the civic reall will smoke the Audi, ecspecially if you get an automatic.
