which big name tranny shops know how to work on audis?
well just like the title says or asks. i have a 98 1.8t 4tro tip and ive been having rough shifting and some slipping. i changed the fluid once but i felt i had under filled it so i did it again and i know i did it right this time. the temp was good, the car level, i shifted through the gears and paused at each for at least 10 sec. everything looked good. the problem is still there. i dont know if maybe theres sludge built up or if its something other than fluid but i am getting real pissed off. i live in central ct and dont know any audi mechanics. i dont want to take it to the stealership and am weary of taking it to a tranny shop unless i know that they know how to work on audis. i had brought it to cottmans and they said "yeah we can work on audis" but when they were looking at it they were so perplexed that it didnt have a dipstick. well if anyone out there knows of a good shop or any recommendations please drop me a line. also how much would it cost to rebuild lets say if it came down to it, or how much would a used tranny cost? anyways thanks for taking the time to read this.
