Blinking Temp Warning?
I was minding my own business, driving down the road, and my car decides to throw a blinking warning on my display, it showed the thermometer with the liquid squigglies... But my temp guage was fine, a notch below straight up, i forgot the numbers. My oil temp was fine... I have no clue what it could have been. I pulled over, turned the car off, and checked under the hood, but everything was fine. I got back in, drove 100 ft, the warning came on again for 10 seconds then went off again. I haven't checked my coolant in a month or so, I'll do it in the morn i guess... Do you guys know what could have triggered this? I don't have the time nor the money to deal with a big repair right now, and I'm confused as hell because all my guages read perfectly normal.
I find it odd that you get the light and your temp gauge did not shoot high... But hitting the 2nd tick on the gauge has been known to throw the light...
Your cooling fan might not be running - check to see if it runs after warming up the car... It has a sensor that has been known to be troublesome.
It could also just be a bad coolant temp sensor. These are both cheap fixes.
Could be your just low on coolant - or possibly your thermostat has gone bad, or your water pump has died.
Could be a number of other things, hose or radiator is blocked or come loose, air pocket in the hose...

it will do that if the coolant level is low, there's a senser in the bottom of the overflow resivor. if it becomes uncoverd, the light will flash. Use only G12 to fill the coolant backup if it is infact low.
I just had that SOB replaced before I road tripped to Utah from Atlanta a few months ago... Mine's nice and new looking
I'm about to go check on it...
Ok, well i just checked it out, my coolant level is perfect, and it was replaced a few month ago, so its still in good condition. What are the odds its a sensor or something somewhere?

I'd replace the sensor... its cheap and wears out over time anyways. Its apparently a bitch to install tho:
