Default Blower Motor Audi A4 SE TDI (1999)

The blower isn't blowing although the display on dash is operating correctly. When I opened the bonet and closed it again the blower suddenly started to blow but now it;s stopped again? How do I get to the motor to check it out - where's it located within the car? Any help gratefully received.

Thanks in anticipation.

You talking about the heater fan, or something else?

You might try removing the pollin filter. Get the blower to
run on high. Spray silicone into the filter opening. That should
lubricate the motor. Be careful to ventilate the interior. This stuff
is flamable.

It's the blower that's connected to the air con unit, hot air or cold air - nothing is blowing although the digital display on the dash (air con) shows that the blower is blowing, does that make sense?

Can you hear it running at all, or is it completely dead?

If completely dead I would start by looking for a bad fuse or relay.

Otherwise, the fan motor may need replaced, there are a few posts here about doing it, and a write-up on audiworld I believe.

You have to take the glovebox out, the fan is located somewhere back in there, its kind of a pain to get to, but do-able, and a lot easier than the actual heater core from what I have read before about it.

I've checked the blower fuse, it's good. If I put the blower on full/minimum no difference. I'm going to have a go at locating the blower motor, i believe its behind the glovebox (mine's a right hand drive vehicle). Any tips?

it is behind the glove box and a pain to get the motor out ( glove box and knee panel have to be removed ) for access the resistor pack is on top of the blower pipe and has a 2 pin and 4 pin connector going to it
