Blower Motor - Found The Problem
 

My blower motor hasn't been blowing, managed to get to it via the pollen filter end. When I've turned the fan on it doesn't turn but when I nudge the blades off it goes spining and turning. I've sprayed WD40 to try and loosen it up. Once its running its okay but when I turn it off and re-start it wont turn yntil its given some help. The mechanism feels smooth and it doesn't appear to be binding? Is it time to get a new motor?

haha, like I have much room to talk, I've got more posts, but you've been around longer! And as far as the Blower motor goes, thats rather wierd. How hard is it to pull out? If it isn't too bad, I'd maybe pull it out, rip it apart, and rebuild it, if at all possible. Maybe it'd work then.

Thanks for your worthwhile response. Correct, I am a 'newbie' and yes I'm still getting used to using the forum. I'll take onboard the point you make but at the same time I'll ditch the sarcasm that surrounded your point.

In all honesty, I wasn't being sarcastic, I really would rip it apart, reassemble, and see if it works. sometimes it helps.

If nothing is binding, then it is likely that the motor is weak.
