I know that the older audi's were bad when it came to rust....pre late 80's early 90's,,,,I;m just hoping that after 10 years my 03 will still be in good shape with no or very minimal rust possible

My 99 is now 9 model years old and has just under 148k miles, and has absolutely zero body rust. There's a little surface stuff here and there on the undercarriage, but it's purely surface and not compromising anything. This car is fantastic for rust resistance (and I live in a snowbelt part of NY, complete with salted roads).

Some parts are going to get rusty - like Hiwords said, his brakes and exhaust have rust. But the body panels are galvanized, so they're OK most likely. I wouldn't bother with the rust coatings though - just keep the car clean. If you find something (ie, suspension arms or something like that) that is rusting, wire brush it until the rust is clear, and then paint it. Looks better and is rust-free then

Actually very well. The factory exhaust appears to be stainless steel, and the last time I stuck my head under the car, it looked very good. It's got some cosmetic imperfections (and one broken hanger) but otherwise, zero issues. Only problem I have with it is that it is too quiet

hahha not really clx...it's a mazda...
good to hear that the exhaust is good UpstateNYA4...I assume it would be very expensive to get it replaced....I believe 6-7 years is the average lifsapn of an exhaust so 9 years i great p if u live in an area of lots of road salt...u prob wash your car once a week in the winter??

no you are wrong but the body is better galvanized not like the bimmer which is a rust bucket
Mmmm... galvanized.

The only time I've seen rust on an Audi is when it's been in an accident.
