All A4s came with rust proofing. Its even under warranty. Late 90s+ audis don't rust unless they've been neglected/crashed.

the only rust i've noticed is on the brakes. not even my stock exhaust had rust, and my car has been in south florida its whole life, maybe 5 miles at most from the beach. my mustang on the other hand had rust on a bunch of spots on the body and underneath.

Actually being a stainless system (just like most aftermarket systems) instead of the sh*tty aluminized steel that most OEMs use (for cost considerations), it should last a long, long time. I don't wash my car weekly in the winter, but if we get a small break where it's going to be up near 40 or so, I'll wash and dry it just to get the crap off the car. I keep my interior clean year-round, but here, where we've gotten wind-chill induced temps in the -30s in the last couple years, I don't wash it regularly during the winter - too much chance of weather seals freezing and tearing when a door is opened. But if we get a warm snap, I'll clean 'er up. Now in the springtime, my "spring cleaning" wash will take me literally all day and sometimes into the next - car on jackstands, wheels off and cleaned inside and out, full engine detail, hose down the underside, scrub caked-on crap off, claybar, new polish, new wax, the whole works. It's tiring and kind of a pain in the ***, but it's worth it to keep a nice car looking like it should.

yeah I know it's not good to wash when it's below freezing....but some times it's like that for weeks...I don't think the odd carwash would hurt..plus I take it in to a detailing shop so they wash the car inside where it's nice & warm

Yeah that's a better way to do it, but just going to a spray-it-yourself place can cause problems, unless you get a spray can of 100% pure silicone (AutoZone), spray it on a rag, and wipe down your weatherseals after you dry the car. That'll keep them from freezing to the doors and glass.
