Thats the impression I was under, that a chip would take care of that problem for you, boost and all.

If you want to run a boost controller get chipped first then add the boost controler because you car is already adding the fuel.

It looks like a pressure reducing valve, when this is put in the pop-off or waste-gate control line (I am not familiar with the overpressure control layout of the 1.8T model) the gate wil open at a higher pressure then without this thing. This wil increase performance, because the valve wil open at a higher pressure so the boost pressure wil increase. I just wonder what happens when the throttle valve is suddenly closed.

If it works like others I've seen, the valve controles a vacume pressure used to open and close the waste gate, by decressing the pressure the spring in the waste gate can oviously close easyer, there by incressing you boost.

yeah from what i understand these are a bad idea on audis because the ecu doesn't read this boost increase and therefore just takes the air and keeps the same amount of fuel; running leaner and leaner the higher you go. you might be able to get a vortec FMU or similar rising rate fpr, if you really want a boost controller. i think there are some devices that can piggyback on the ecu and change certain variables so that you can manually adjust timing, look for a boost retard device or something, lol.
