Default boost problem

i have a stock chip, boost gauge, 007, and just installed new o2 sensors and exhaust. My problem is that sometimes when I'm driving and i stomp on the gas the boost only reads 5lbs, when normally my boost is 10lbs. Now this happens when i'm driving only sometimes. Example: today i was driving to school this morning and only 5lbs, now just bbefore i got to school all of a sudden i was back to 10lbs. Was thinking it was the MAF, but after reading the trouble shooting section I don't know.

What's going on any ideas? has anyone had the same problem?

one more thing is that my check engine light came back. I didn't get it vag yet but plan on going to autozone tom.

Thanks

Check the connection to the N75 valve. Pull the rubber boot back from the connector and see if the wires are broken or breaking.

5 psi sounds like limp mode. I had a problem last year where I was going in and out of limp mode. I would hit19 psi (GIAC FXK03) and then go down to 5, then back to19 after a while, etc...

He is stock, it is normal not to reach peak boost in differnt loads. You on the other hand need a diode (4.7v) to fix your problem if you have a map car (01+). Some giac chips have problems over 17psi and will do what yours is doing. The diode will limit the ecu to seeing any boost over 17psi and prevent you from hitting limp. See sig for more info.

My limp mode was caused by a contaminated MAF (over oiled K&N right out of the box) which caused the air entering the system to be not properly metered, giving me a "rich condition" DTC. Surprisingly, most times, the DTC would not even light up the CEL, I would know only because I was going in limp mode but the DTC was there when I would scan the car.

yeah, you're not always gonna pull max PSI. however, since you installed your own boost gage make sure you did it right if that's what you're depending on for boost readings. the real question is, do you notice a difference when driving? because losing 5 lbs of boost should be noticable in how the car drives. if the car feels like its driving the same at both of those readings your gague is most likely the problem.

To answer your question, yes I can feel a difference when driving. I forgot to mention that before I replaced the o2 sensors i would consistantly boose at 10psi it was once I replaced the o2 I started having this problem. I don't know if that helps at all.
Does it take time for the car to adaapt? I don't think it would.

It happened again today, 10psi then hammer on the gas 2 seconds later down to 5psi WTF?

get a vag-com and reset your computer. replacing sensors like that can fool with your computer. other than that, I have no idea. make sure all your connections are tight, and that the sensor is installed correctly...
