Default Boring out the MAF

Alright so I have the correct maf for boring the thing out. I have the one with the A on the end of the PN.

I hear I need to get a cone filter with a velocity stack, or use my airbox and put a VS in there.

Anyone have any before and after pics of a bored out MAF? Is there anything else i need to know on doing this?

Ive never heard of boring a maf housing. Only buying a larger housing. the walls of the maf housing are not even a 1/4 inch thick so i dont know how much you could "bore" out.

And if you don't have software to compensate, it will cause your car to run lean.

ok 1.8er's i think us 12ver's have different MAF, but they usually are not "bored"... you can mess with them and polish and remove the screen and that posty thing, ithink that is like the S3, im getting one from mance very soon... i heard you dont want it tooooo polished though.. good luck... when and if i get mine i would be glad to post pics for you

You wouldnt want to remove the screen/grille in the maf... its there for 2 reasons. To prevent debris from getting past the maf that the air filter may not had caught, and for air flow efficiency. Here is a pic of a 2.8 maf... The walls of the housing are the same thickness so i dont understand this "boring out" binaz....

Wheres the screen ^^??? Pretty sure thats for a 12v 2.8.. Thats what the pic description said on yahoo.
