I just bought this 2001 audi and the bose symphony stereo is in safe mode. Problem is I don't have the manual and I've heard that the code is posted in the trunk by the vin. Can anyone walk me through finding the code and entering the code. Thanks

 

You might have to bring it to the dealer. They may want to see the registation, before giving you the code.

Agreed Crazyhawk, the dealer will wanna see some proof of ownership before they give you the code..but they do have it so that's where I'd go if you don't have your manual.

 

The code is in the spare wheel well. It should be a sticker with 4 numbers on it.

 

On my car, the code was on a little white sticker on the lid of the trunk. It was partially hidden by the trunk crossmembers. I had to climb in with a flashlight and really search for it as it is very well hidden and could only be viewed from a sharp angle.

Also note that the numbers are written in "European Style"....don't confuse 1 and 7.

The code is on a sticker in the wheel well for the spare tire. Check the archives on this and the procedure - the question has come up before.

What do you mean "not true".

Unless you have been in my trunk, you don't know where the sticker is in MY car.

As I said, in my car, the sticker is on the trunk lid. There is no sticker in the wheel well of my car.
