Default bov questions?

i just bought a 2001 audi A4 1.8t and i bought a hks blow off valve and i was curious if this will make my car run poor.cause my friend said that audi reserculate the air so if i put that hks bov on and red line it when the rpms go back down it will go to 0 rpm and almost die then come back up.is this true any help would greatly be appreciated.

Yup. Click here and scroll down to the BOV/DV section.

if you run it strait BOV then yes, your friends right.. you need to get a recirculatoin kit for it in order to run it...

but mainly you need to do research before you buy things for your car

Get a diverter valve and an intake and you'll hear the sound you so desire without the performance loss you will acquire with a bov vented to the atmosphere.

I found even at 10% BOV vent, my hybred D-BOV will cause my to throw a check engine at over time, or right off the bat if you bring the RPM to 6k (don't remember what code it was code off the top of my head). Get a nice DV and you should be set for a long time.

Everybody wants that "psshhhh" sound, quite frankly I think it's a little overrated.

Yeah don't put the BOV on, look into a Diverter Valve and Intake if your looking for the "Bov Sound"... That will come the closest to what you want and alot like a BOV it wont increase your cars performance by much!
