Default brake light error

As soon as i left my house my car beeped once then a yellow light came on that looks like this (O). So i went back home and read the manual to see what it was and it did not have the exact pic in the book but something close. So, the high mount brake light cable was disconnected and I reconnected it. Now the light just stays on. Is that normal or could it be something else? How do i get it off?

Thanks

JP

nope its yellow it looks like that without the exclamation point, its just blank in the middle and the two lines sorrounding the inner circle are dashed......just wondering if this should correct itself after I reconnect the brake light cable.......its a B5 if that helps

You're talking about the wires coming off the brake pads? Have you checked the thickness of your pads?

No, the actual wire for the high mount brake light wire in the trunk was disconnected. Do I have to clear the error after I re-connect it? Or should it go away automatically after i reconnect it?

Nah it should just go away on its own as soon as it's reconnected.

OK, not what i was looking for....damn, so any idea what this means? I have looked in the manual at the symbols and none of the are exactly the same as the one I have appearing.....maybe its a turn signal as well or rear foglight........but thats too ironic for the light to come when the brake light wire is disconnected......maybe its just not going away. Thoughts?
