Subject says it all. I was out in all that rain yesterday and it changed to snow. when the brakes are wet I have to really stand on the pedal to stop till the rotors dried a little then it acted alright till I drive a few more miles without touching the brakes. Then they act the same till dry. Think its the brand of Pad thats on it? Former owner always had it serviced at Audi dealership so I'm almost sure they are OEM pads.
Anyone else have brakes that act this way in rainy weather? Any ideas?

My last two Grand Cherokee Jeeps never acted that way and neither did my 5000S or 200 Audi. I maybe new here but not new at turning wrenches thanks.

 

it wasnt meant to be a bash on your intelligence, i just figured it was a given that all brakes work like **** when wet or covered in snow

 

this is one of the big problems with the A4

 

when its raining you should always pump your brakes every once in a while. no matter what the car is

 

I have never really seen a car that acted as bad as this one. I'll take a look at the rotors and pads when I change wheel bearings next week. I have a hunch I might find some glazing on rotors and pads from the way it was driven with the last owner. Say a regular dry stop takes 5 lbs of pressure on the pedal in the wet this one takes 50 lbs. I've driven and owned a lot of cars. More than most have ever thought about. If need be I'll throw new rotors on it and some everwear gold pads that I have had great sucess with. Don't worry Lazer I have very thick skin. LOL!

 

If its really bad you could have glazed rotors

 

For me its actually the opposite. For some reason my brakes are extremely responsive when wet, more so than when it is dry out. Why could this be? I find it very weird.

 

Water cools them off. Cool brakes=powerful brakes, normally.
