A/C problem - compressor won't turn on.
Good Morning everyone...here's my issue...2005 A4, 1.8T with A/C. System is charged but compressor will not turn on. About 2 weeks ago upon starting up the car it just would not come on. I checked fuses #'s 1 and 6 with a meter...both are good. I believe there are 2 pressure switches, but no idea where they are physically located...can some one direct me to them? I purchased the Chilton manual yesterday...it's not helpful...there's a short section on troubleshooting and what little there is doesn't tell or show you where to look. Any pics would be a plus! Thanks in advance for anyone that can help!
Rch105,
If you have already checked the fuses and they are both good. Try checking out the relay if your car is equipped with one, should be located under the driver's side dash, then go hunting for the switch. I believe later B5's combined both the low and high pressure switches into one and I believe it is located on the passengers side of the engine compartment near the battery.
