cam chain tensioner fixing cost
 

all, my car is A4.1.8T-Quattra, it is making noise once it gets warmer, or after 10 or 8 miles drive, it is making diesel engine type noise at the rear of the engine i took the hood off and checked, i went to a local mechanic and they are saying cam chain tensioner needs to be replaced and gave the pricing estimate of $1500($681-spare+remaining labor) are they giving me right price estimate...i dont want to be screwed up.. i feel this is high,

is there any suggestions and mechanic who are in central NJ area who can do this for moderate labor.
how long this will take for this job....need advice on this.. where i can get this job done easily and lesser price in central NJ area,, bad thing is i cant drive the car more than 10 miles it starts making big noise in engine i am scary to drive.

any suggestions on mechanic shops in my area..near RT-130
