Can't turn on the climate control codes
 

I have a 2003 A4 3.0 Q and I can't turn on the hidden codes. I press recirculate button and up flow arrow together as indicated in other threads and I don't get the 1c to display in any of my dual temp displays. please help!. Btw, I can switch from f to c without problem pressing + and recirculate. !!
