Hello, I've been around for some time and just registered today to seek an answer for the APR SW upgrade problem I'm having with ...

Typically, i was able to find answer by browsing but I guess this is an unusal case that I couldn't find anything so here it goes...

I took my a4 to a APR authorized shop to get the SW installed and during the download the ECU died and I haven't got a clue as to why it occured... Has anyone had any experience like mine? If so, what could possibly have caused it? The tech person tells me that it is a very rare case but it does happen once a while?!?...

I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanx!

Added: My car is 2002 a4 1.8 fyi

 

Did they offer to fix it??? Doesn't sound like its of any fault of your own. What are the odds of it just happening to fail. I would make them buy you a new one.

 

Yeah, they even gave me a loaner... i'm confident that they will fix it... but it's just mind boggling.

Just an update in case anyone is wondering...

The car was fixed but my ignition coil failed on me shorty after I picked up the car which was taken care by the Audi recall campaign.

Since then it runs like a charm (or like a beast)!

Added: I got the 93-Stock with Security Lockout option
