So, as far as car performance goes, my a4 is second to none.
As my car gets up in miles (72,000) I'm realizing Audi skimped on everything else.
- About 40,000 ago, my radio reception totally died
- about 6 weeks ago, 2 of my window regulators went at the same time (why build the pulley wheel out of plastic?!?!?)
- Now, my CD player won't work
I read the manual, and it says that the CD may be loaded wrong or unreadable.
So I tried a brand new CD, and it still didn't work.

Any sugguestions?

if you want to knock the Audi for your problems then I suggest you visit other forums of different makes because they get the same problems and quite normal with newish tech (did you put the cds in the right way round), 2 window regs going down at the same time sounds like a ground problem or fuse

 

Did I all of the sudden forget how to put a CD in the CD player? I don't think so.
And I know that window regulators in audis are a commong problem because a) the regulator wants to push the window straight up, but the window is curved and b) the fly wheel is made of plastic. The consdtant stress causes it to break. It's just poor design.
And the Audi dealer told me that the radio reception issue is quite common.
Is it it possible to criticize an audi for certain features, or are they beyond reproach?

So are there any other suggestions?

take apart the cd player and clean it with rubbing alcohol made mine work again

Ok. How do you take the CD Player (BOSE) apart to clean it. Getting it out is no problem, but do I have to watch for anything if I take it apart? What do I clean it with?

Got a tutorial for it?

BTW tried the cd cleaner, didn't work. Will try compressed air next.
