Any help would be apprecitated cel came on had it scanned Po0170 was the code that came up. find a broken vacum line replaced it but that didnt clear the code. Test pipe is in but did the no cel thing and that was installed awhile ago dont think it has anything to do with this. thanks

you sorted the problem but you need a diagnostic tool to clear the CEL

I replcaed the vacum line cleared the codes and then they came back yesterday

Fuel trim malfunction.

If not a vacuum leak, it could be the MAF.

How would i check the maf senser or should i just replcae it and hope

If you decide to replace the MAF, get a remanufactured one.

If you have more than 115K kilometers on the current one replace it.

how did you clear the codes??? just removing the ground wire doesnt clear the codes (it leaves soft codes in the memory) so when you start the engine pop you have the CEL again, there is a little cheat here remove the ground wire turn the ignition on and switch the headlights to full beam this depletes the computer of all power but has to be left for approx 20 minuets don't quote me on that Ive never done it on an Audi

i used snapons scan tool to read clear the codes. I dont have the proper programing to use the scanner as a trouble shooter.

snap on is a name only there are many on the market for a tenth the cost, if the code came back up what was it?? VAG software is no better at determining the fault, the code counts
