Default CEL cycle time?

How many ignition cycles does my B6 have to go through before my CEL goes off? Or does it just go off after a certain period of time?

I'm asking because I had a P0300 and P0302 and it has since gone away. I thought I read somewhere once before that it goes off after 30 cycles or something. Just wanted to see if that was right?

Default RE: CEL cycle time?

Usually somewhere between 40 and 50 cycles will get rid of a code if the problem is resolved. Sometimes far fewer thou. Ive seen as few as 2 or 3 cycles. If the vehicle passes the self test for the system causing the code, it will turn off the light.
