Changing headlight bulbs

For my 2003 non-zenon headlights. Don't have the manual yet, so don't know the bulb types.

Found what appears to be a good FAQ for changing the bulbs,

Questions: are both highs and lows 55w H7s?

That was for All-Road Quattro... Kind of thought that's what my 1.8T Quattro was.
Ordering some new HID look zenon-type bulbs for the car. Wanted to do both sets same time.

h7's is correct. If you switch to an angel eye headlight (which is recommend) than you have to use an H1 bulb.

Ended up getting some nice PIAA ultra whites. Learned with my last car never to buy bulbs with higher wattage unless you do the wiring harness thing...
