Default Chassis

I have done a search to see if this question has been asked in the past...it has but was not answered.

I need an expansion tank for my 98 A4. It asks for the chassis range of the car. There are 2 options and 2 different
expansion tanks. How do I deternine this?? Thanks

what is a expansion tank ? also if your car is a 98 yes there was a split if you have the orange and red taillights you have a early 98 and if they are all red then it is a 98.5

It is the tank to the right side of the engine compartment for the coolant that runs off into the radiator.

Do you know how to determine the difference between chassis?

Is your car handy? Just look for the part number which is stamped on it.
