Yeah, I say get the code first. If it points to the secondary injection pump then reset the ECU.

I disagree, he said the hose came off, that would probably throw a code. Pull the bat cable, if code comes back get it scanned.

Yeah, if the hose CAME OFF and he has no OTHER DTCs he should just reset it if it's from the secondary air pump... if its another code he should investigate it.

It sounded like he didnt have a code reader. So, I just was saying, since his hose came off, that was probably the source of the code.

So, my logic is, that probably threw the code, so he could just reset it by pulling the cable. if it is something else, he should get it read ASAP as we all know.

I agree with you, I have a code reader, and that is always the first thing i would do, in this case I think he'll be ok unless the code comes right back, then it definitly needs further investigation.

So, see, we're both right!!!

Yeah it's cool, we're on the same page. Pulling codes is simple and effectve, but the hose probably threw the code.

Well, its simple and effective, if you have a code reader!

It made me laugh to read your conversation.

I'm going to do exactly what you guys said, first thing in the mourning.

Pull the damn batt cable if that doesn't clear the light, I'll have it scanned. If it throws a code I'll post it on the AF

check out http://www.steve-hall.com/cgi-bin/VAG-Locator.pl and look for someone in your area that has a VAG tool. You can pull the code to find out what caused it and clear it if you want.

Well I forgot to repost after I un-hooked the battery. But that worked and the light hasn't came back on. I pretty sure I took care of the problem.
