check engine light code P3081

My friend has a check engine light on his 03 1.8T GTI, it said something about air fuel metering. Does someone know what exactly is wrong? Thanks.

That DTC is indicative of a missing thermostat, a stuck open thermostat, or a cooling system with 100% antifreeze. It is NOT associated with a defective ECT G62.
