chip, intake, blow off vavle 2001 1.8t
hey everyone, i am new to the forum seeing how this is my first post. i drive a 2001 1.8t A4. i am looking to put a new chip, intake and blow off onto my car. i see that a lot of people like the giac x (i believe that's how it is spelled) chip. are there any other that you would suggest, where can i get one, price? for intakes all i am really seeing is the carbonio and it seems pretty pricey. is there anything else around and where can i find one? for blow off vavles i see greddy and i the hx compact diverter vavle. does anyone know anything about it? http://www.stratmosphere.com/hyperboost3.htm last paragraph, the very bottom of the page, it says that blow off vavles create issues with daily drive. thanks for all the help, i will be out of town for awhile but thanks in advance for all the help.

A BOV IS THE SAME FREAKIN THING AS A DIVERTER VALVE....
idk why they have two different names, i guess its just cuz the "euro tuner" crowd is trying to seperate itself from the "rice crowd"..
but in reality, BOV's are MEANT TO BE RECIRCULATED, therefore it does the same thing. They have recirculating kits for every BOV on the market
There is no difference between the two, they look identical, perform identical (if run the same), hook up to the identical things, THEY ARE THE SAME THING....... JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ, i hate when people think they know what theyre talking about, when they really have never had experience with both of them.
BOV = DV . . . . . . . . DV = BOV . . . . . . . . . SIMPLICITY....
OH YA, if you take off the hose that goes from your "DV" to the intake pipe, your car will run crappy...

We use Diverter Valves. When you have an intake the DV will make a saound similar to a Blow Off Valve but for the sake of not being shot do yourself a favor and dont use that word anymore around these parts ya hear. Some of these guys will get pretty brutal.
anyways back on subject. i have a 01 with giac-x chip, forge 007 dv, and i made my own intake and my car is pretty good. im pretty happy with the performance.... giac is the way to go for the b5
