Default cloth interior

i have a frined with a 98 a4 and i like the cloth interior he has. are they a lot rarer to find than the leather interior model? also what kind of cloth is it, it doesnt seem like the traditional "cheap cloth" that other kinds of cars have. thanks.

I spend forever finding one in cloth. I have no idea what type of clothit is but it is very durable and looks real nice plus it does'nt get all hot and sticky during the summer.

Audi, are a high end luxury car... They arent going to make thousands of cloth interrior cars when only a handful want them. They do make them, but its is much easier to find leather.

It's harder to find leather over here in europe, most cars are specced with cloth but it is a good quality cloth.

My car with 120k on the clock, cloth has only started to wear.

The reason cloth is uber hard to find is because leatherette was a no charge option. People buying new could choose leather, and not pay any extra for it... so obviously 90% of the people jumped on that.

I have seen ONE audi, it was a 1998 with sport pkg, and the cloth was amazing. It had no pattern in it, just black, tightly knit cloth... other cloth a4 interiors i have seen have not been so nice... they kind of have like a texture in them, or pattern... I dont like them as much.

But yes, if leather was a no charge option, we can assume the cloth is of very high quality.

My 98 has the cloth interior. It is grey with a pattern in it. The pattern is hardly noticeable. The cloth is very comfortable and durable. I have 98,000 miles and no real signs of wear.

Do you have the sport pkg? I'm pretty sure the one I drove had NO pattern... could be wrong though, was a couple years ago. I remember though, 1998 Canary Yellow, 5 spd 1.8T Quattro w/sport... at a chrysler dealer of all places. Was a nice car, couldnt get over the yellow!

Yeah I've got the sport package. Having no design on the cloth would be nice! Mine doesn't look to bad though. Just has lines going through it.
