Default computer reseting itself

I guess there must be loose connection or something in my cars wiring, as the central display has taken to coming on and off without reason. I know its not just the display, cos every time it comes on, the computer does a diagnostic check of the car; so presumably there's a loose connection somewhere before this. As it happens, the display comes on more, and for longer periods, after the car has been running for a while, possibly indicating that as whatever loose connection it is is expanding with the car getting warmer.

There's probably a million places where the circuit could be broken, but has anyone else experienced the same problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Check your negative connection on your batter terminals.

hmm...this could be like finding a needle in a haystack. [:@]

Might want to try removing the instrument cluster and reseating the 3 plugs behind it. The cluster can be removed by pulling off the piece of trim over the steering wheel, then there are two screws to remove.
