Default Coolant Question

Hi Everyone, Was curious to know where to get the red coolant that Audi uses and if not what you would recommend.

Yup. Dealership works too. Or any coolant if you flush the system. I just had mine flushed and had the shop put in orange dex-cool so I can get it at my local Autozone.

Plus it's better than spending $20 a gallon for G12 from the dealer.

Hi, I got the green stuff in my 98 avant because just did timing belt n pump, dealer told me to go w/ pink g-12? does orange dex cool or global yellow work just as well and cheaper? n.bergen nj

audi says stick with pink g-12 due to it's additive package, I'm sure most coolants are similar and have similar additive packages, my take is stick with factory fluids because they are tested and fomualted to work best with the car, another thing to make sure is when mixing coolant to use distilled water, hard tap water contains many minerals which will lead to cooling system failures

Global yellow works just as well. I've used it for the past 30K mi.
