i was just driving along in 2nd gear where the turbo would normally kick in and it started puttering and the cel light started flashing. any ideas? this sucks.

Coil packs have a habit of goin if not already replaced b4 the chip it seems. You can't realistacly ask for an estimate for repair if you don't know what your fixing. Get the codes read, then post em up. Coil packs are a couple of minutes each 2 do and simple. Might as well change the plugs when you do em and gap the new ones downto .028.

Told ya so. The stock ones just aren't up 2 the job, especially the more miles on em. DON'T LET THE SHOP CHANGE THE COILS. Do it yourself in 15-20 minutes. Change the plugs and gap em down 2 .028 while in there and your good to go for a while.

atleast go get your codes read before you do anything. It is rare for 01 coil packs to go out.
