Cutouts?

Cutouts?
Has anyone tried cutouts on these cars? I was thinking of fabricating a cutout valve just after the expansion chamber below the downpipe.
My only concern really is how it wil sound. i would make it so when i was driving on the road, i could have it closed, but when i was out at the track or whatnot, i could open it. has anyone tried this and knows how it will sound?

OMFG my friend unbolted the cats and mufflers from his headers on his Camaro, and its EFFING BAD A$$ it sounds like a full blown dragster. its insain...
once i get my lazy butt around to doing it, ill poast a DIY and some sound clips

RE: Cutouts?
im not sure if cutouts would sound too good on an Audi. i think it might be a touch too loud/ricey sounding. i had a cutout on my LS1 and LT1 Trans-Am's and it did sound amazing. however i gained a little hp with it open; however i lost noticable torque. i would assume if you did this you would loose a little SOTP torque that you will notice. if you try though, let us know how it turns out.

RE: Cutouts?
taking off mufflers and such decreases back pressure, which in turn decreases low-end torqwue. but i would use this on the drags, at which, im never below 3k RPM and thats at the initial launch. it increases your top end power. you end up generally gaining mroe than you losse.
