Its not too hard of a job, but def do the whole axle, its so much easier. You will need a triple square socket though, I think its 12mm. When I did mine, I used raxles.com. They are a little more pricey than others, but they are really nice, they lend you the special tools you'll need, and they give you a pre-paid ups shipping label to ship the core and tools back.
