from experiance here has anybody had the check engine light come on for a bad or leaky dv valve?

 

Naw i had to replace my Dv valve before and the check engine light never went on audi noticed it when it went for a check up! Why whats your problem?

 

why do you have a CEL?

 

ya CEL came on this morning on the way to work. i need to do some research on vag coms.
i am trying to get up to speed with doing diagnosis and equipment i can purchase to do so.

the reason i asked is because i feel that it lacks slightly when turbo should be spooling up.
it doesnt run rough at all. so i thought i would see if anyone has had the CEL come on due to a
bad dv.

 

do you have access to autozone? they will scan your car for free. Trying to guess your problem without knowing the code is a waste of time, there are tons of possible reasons.

 

sorry if that came out wrong, i was just wondering if a bad dv could set a MIL

i work at a toyota and bmw dealership. we have scan tools but none will compare to vagcom or vag 1551

i'll get the generic codes and let you know what i think.

 

Well a bad diverter code won't throw a specific "bad diverter code #" if that's what you are asking.
