dice ipod intergration.
has anyone used this? If you have a trunk cd player would u connect this there or at the actual radio? when you are connected does the ipod only power up when the cd player is turned on. or is it charging the whole time?
It connects to the head unit. I believe the dice is an all for 1 unit that charges as well. There are other companies that make Ipod integration kits. Im not sure if they do for audi, but it would be something to look into considering dice is expensive.
I just bought a DICE hookup for my car last week. I installed it myself. It wasn't very hard. I went to the dealer and had them pull out my radio (which they did for free which was nice). I then went home and hooked it up. I have the indash 6 disc changer so I'm not entrirely sure about the trunk setup but mine works just fine. It's pretty much a Y splitter harness. You plug the harness into the back of the headunit where the CD Changer goes and them you plug back in your CD Changer and your Ipod into the other ends of the harness. I then drilled a small hole in the back of the glove compartment to run the wire to the Ipod. My Ipod just sits in there.
On my Symphony II headunit I can hit "CD" once and get to the CD Changer and then I hit it again to access my Ipod. I also have ability to control the Ipod from the headunit (change playlists, shuffle through songs, fast foward) or open up the glove box and control the Ipod from there as well. It sounds and works just fine for me.

Good deal! How much did you pay? Where'd you get it? From Dice?
