Default diverter valve

Hey guys. I just installed a Forge 007 DV on my 99.5 B5 A4. I was wondering if there is a reason why i dont hear any difference in the sound of it. I took it off my friends 50th anniversary GTI and it was real loud on his but makes no difference on mine...any thoughts?

He probably had an aftermarket intake/cone filter. The stock airbox muffles the turbo/DV noise.

yea he has a GIAC but i have yet to get one. We had to link a larger vaccum line to the small one on my car for it to fit. will that cause any problems, like should i buy a bigger line? or will it be fine the way it is
