Ok,

This it to make your engine parts like your air intake heat shield, engine cover and the air flow parts from front of the car to the air box.

You are going to need:


Sand paper
High heat engine spray paint form Kragen or another auto store. I used dupli-color engine enamel 500 degrees.
Tape to tape off where you don’t want paint[/ul]

First: take parts off and wash them really well with soap and water to get the dirt off.

Second: sand like you have never sanded before. The better you sand the better the end product will look. I used 600 grit to smooth it all out in the end.

Third:Take the part out of theengine bay and spray in a ventilated area.Spray evenly over all the parts you want painted and do not over spray.

Fourth: leave out in the sun to dry. Make sure it is dry before you put it back in your engine bay.

For the engine cover, I sprayed the rings and the “5v turbo” black first and hand painted silver between the rings and letters. Then covered that and spayed the rest silver.

It looks pretty awesome in person

i have seen that done in silver with a black car, and it looks good........you might say it is already that way, but on a car with miles, the stuff starts to look old and worn

 

Looks nice and clean, but im affraid of what it will look like when it gets dirty and grimey. When they are black, it really helps camofloge all the grease, dirt, etc. It seems like itll be a high maint. thing to keep looking good.. But it does look nice, good DIY.

 

looks good with silver.. i think anything else would look ricey

If i had a yellow car, i would do what Turbo Kraut said and paint the rings and the 5v turbo yellow and leave everything else black or I would make the rings black and make everything else yellow. But that might look a little too weird or stand out too much.

Also, there really are not that many colors to choose from that are heat resistant. there is only like silver black , shiny black, grey, clear and maybe another.

i need a new engine cover anyway (mine is cracked i think the repair guys did it )

if it doesnt work out, ill can it and get a new one or sand it down and try another color

 

i just go over mine with some armor all. it looks clean. if it was silver it would be constantly dirty in my case at least. I dont have time to work on my car anymore.. 8..(
