DIY dual SMIC's

Hi tasteful Audi fans,

has anyone used twinSMIC's on an Audi A4 B51.8T quattro? for example using standard intercoolers and piping them together (one on each side of the car).

I'm not sure if can fit a second SMIC, but it might be a good idea, use up old standard intercoolers lying around, increase heatsink/airflow capacity on the cheap...

I think its cheaper and easier to just run a fmic.

Fmic's look better too imo.

and fmics probaly work better since there would be no filter to filter out the air going in to the motor

on the dual side mounts

Kraylon, it would go from one ic to the other. No need for a filter.

A correctly sized front mount or upgraded sidemount (boostfactory has one) will be much better at lowering temps and will flow much greater than a dual set up.

What about 2 smic WITH a fmic. I call ita tfic setup. Tri-fecta intercooler. Oh snap, he's gone crazy!!

you should throw a top mount in there too from a rex.....then it could be a quad setup....I bet there wouldn't be too much of a pressure drop there.......

yes thanks for replies, I think your right go with FMIC, I was just trying to be a cheap skate especially like if only going with a chip upgrade, but even then those Godspeed intercoolers look pretty affordable.
Plus I plan to go with a GT turbo and PES software so why not spend a bit more on IC.

I was curious though if ever been done.. I wonder if those S4 IC's would fit? they should be bigger than the A4 IC I guess.
