Do I have an AVANT????
 

Ok,

So this is nutso!!!! I searched and I seached (gosh it's hot). and I couldn't find any info on the differences between an Avant and a regular A4 1.8T

So here are some questions that I'm sure LOTS of people will appreciate the answers to.

1. I have an 02' A4 1.8T. it was sold brand new in Montreal Canada in September of 01'. I know it's a B6but How do I know if it's an Avant?

2. What are the differences between an Avant and a regular 02' A41.8T?

3. Are there any exterior, interior,under the hood features that distinguish an Avant from an 02' A4 1.8T?

The blue one is a sedan, the silver one is an Avant

Probably shocks in rear are different to accomodate the weight difference.

Other than the body, I believe the cars are the same. Same engine, brakes, etc, just a different body style.
Ya know, kind of like a convertible is different, but the same?

All Avants come Quattro, where as the sedans can come FWD or Quattro.
Engine is the same no matter if its sedan or avant. The Avant is about 100lbs heavier then the sedan, however I have seen, at least on my S4 avant, that the suspension in the rear is very similar to that of the sedan.

Other than the main difference being avant=wagon, the axles, suspension, gas tank, exhaust, frame, and all theobvious cosmetic stuff is different.

silly question really but yes you have an estate/avant you can tell by the pictures submitted, UK spec saloon/hatch/ estate,

USA spec;)as seen above
