does anyone know safe oil pressure psi?

Default does anyone know safe oil pressure psi?

2000 a4 quattro 1.8t at ide warm 12-14psi at 2500 rpm`s runs 60-65psi sound ok?

12 to anything below 30 is bad. I'm pretty shure of it. I wouldn't drive it untile I found out fo rsure though.

my friend has a boosted civic si and he normally sits around 80 in oil pres. But i dont know i may be dif for our cars

It should be around 4 bar at idle or 14.7X 4 in psi. I wouldn't drive it unless you want to replace your engine soon. It sounds like you have a sludge problem or the oil pump is going bad, if you can remove the oil pan and either clean or replace the oil pick up tube, more than likely thats the problem.

when warm mine sits at 30-35 psi, and 80-85 anything above 2k rpm

if ur oil pressure is high get a bilstien engine flush there like 25 buks or somthing, that may help...
plus u get all of the nasty sludge outta ur engine, not to mention your oil return line...

wow! I thought I was doing ok, now it may be back to the drawing board abit.
if 30 psi is the norm at an idle, Iam definately in danger zone thanks alot!

also, what is this bilstein flush?

if you're not having any loud lifter noise and no oil pressure light don't worry about it man. don't go spending $600 on an oil pump change if you don't have to. Your readings are a little low, but not low enough to warrent an oil pump change. if you have a chance get a flush, or do your own with a quart of 50weight and the rest ATF.

if you're getting an oil light then get it fixed. odd that you aren't getting lifter noise too tho. but yeah, get'r checked out.
