i dont know if any one can help me my A4 1.8cc on a N plate
But the problem i have is the car was just going down the road and just cut out and made a werr noise now when i go to start it it seems that the starter is turning over but the engine does not even try to fire up any help would be great thanks Martin

 

timing belt is first area

 

oh and the chances are because you spun the engine over it will definitely have waked the valves so causing a costly repair

 

checked timing belt and cam belts

 

Check the battery.

 

check the top "cams" are turning with the bottom end the belt might have stripped the teeth on the crank pulley so nothing will turn

 

battery seems good i dont understand why it doesent even try to fire up

 

if the bottom is turning and the top is still there will not be a spark so it cant fire up, I hope im wrong but it seems likely and the sound you get is it sounds like there is no compression

 

yea sounds like you might have thrown the t belt and fucked the valves, id check to see if the cams are turning like avant said

 

have taken off cover to cam area and belt looks very new could it not be an electrical fault or a ecu problem.
if anyone would like to take a look at it i like in bournemouth area.
