Driver door sensor? help!
Hey all, i posted about this awhile ago, is there a sensor on the driver door in a B5? i see one on the rear doors but not the front. my car tells me the door is open when its closed. help!
I know this is an old post, but I didn't see a reply to it. I have the same problem. I have a 98 1.8T, and it's not recognizing the driver's side door is shut. Therefore, the alarm no longer "beeps", and it doesn't alarm when the door is open and the key is in the ignition. Does anyone know where the sensor is in the driver's side door that tells it the door is shut?
It must be my age, because apparently I've gone blind. I can't see it either on the door or the frame. Can you tell me exactly where to look? I've gone over everything. Sorry to be so stupid, but I'm just not seeing it.
Excuse my previous somewhat flippant remark. What i had assumed was the switch isnt. The switch seems to be integrated into the door side of the latch. If you manually flip the door catch to the closed position, it should turn off the interior lights and signal that the door is closed.
