Audi A4 2.8 liter over heating
Hi,
I just purchased a 2000 Audi 2.8 Liter AWD with 56,000 miles on it, incredibly clean, however it is over heating. I know the electric fan is not working and I have seen some threads to test that.
It overheats dangerously when idling, it can be driven down the road and as long as you keep the RPM's around 2200 it can be driven and the temperature will be one click over straight up.
I am going to immediately replace the water pump, timing belt and all tensioners. My question is what is the best kit to purchase.
The kit I am leaning to is the one available from BLAU parts. is anyone familiar with this.
There is no white smoke coming from the exhaust and no evidence of water mixing with the oil. I will check the antifreeze for exhaust gasses to eliminate head gasket failure.
What else should I be looking for?
Thank you,
