dropping the car
My car has the non sport suspension, i love the way it goes over bumps, I was wondering if there is a way that i can drop the car and keep the same ride that i have know, i only want to drop the car for looks and not for handleing, any ideas? Thanks

RE: dropping the car
the lower u go... the worse the ride. As far as i kno, theres not any way to get around that

RE: dropping the car
what is the softest strut out there?
|
RE: dropping the car
softest strut?
you mean softest spring? the Eibach Pros (I have) drop the car about 1.2-1.4 inchs and still has a great ride. But I want to go real low, and thus I will have a hard ride, but i dont care about ride quality |
RE: dropping the car
not unless u get coilover kits, i think

RE: dropping the car
I've got a 2000 a4 w/H&R sport springs and koni adjustable shocks. The ride is stiff, but still acceptable for everyday driving. The look is worth it though.

RE: dropping the car
i was in your boat, so i went with the stock sport suspension. it only lowers it 20mm and the ride quality isn't compromised...if you need to be lower than that though, neuspeed makes the softest springs from what i've heard.

RE: dropping the car
The less travel you have the stiffer the ride will be and there's no way around that. If you were to lower the car with springs that were just shorter yet maintained the same spring rate, you would bottom out quite often. So, if you go lower you go stiffer.

RE: dropping the car
what springs and struts can i get that will give me the softest ride i can get dropped. will there be any differents if i go with coilovers?
|
RE: dropping the car
Coilovers are sort of wierd, in that the lower you go... the softer the ride gets (to a point)... but yeah, it still comes down to spring rate. A coilover will always have a stiffer rate than stock.
