yea no prob man, i dont exatly know what the hell that guy was trying to do in those pix but if you get to the bottom its three hose clamps to get off and them put the new one in

 

oh ****, you changed years on me man, for the 97 it is there, earlier you were talkin about a 99.5 which is better from the bottom, but i know you dont have to take your headlight out if you do it from the top, you can get in there easily

 

wait for 97 thats where the is right? by number 2 and 3 or is it even in the pic. if its not where is it?

 

yea for the 97 its in that area, see the blue hose that goes to it but its further down in there, for your friends 99.5 its way further down

 

The thing that sorta looks like it by the number 2 and 3 is like a pcv valve or somthing, i dont even know, a breather of some sort i guess

 

so its basically under the bpv? and how will i kno where the dv is cuz i don't think i can get a good view from top. or is it obvious

 

Well first off, when you refer to the BPV that IS the DV, the area that guy circled is where its at, if you move the hoses around you can most likely see it chillin there on your 97, for the 99.5 its way down there and cant be seen very well from the top and is nowhere near the pic that guy has...... if you look under there you should be able to find it, on hose goes to the intake one hose goes to the turbo outletpipe, and theres a small vac line going to it

 

in the pic the dv is the small little thing on the far left bottom on the hose that goes from the turbo

so its that thing
