Ebay FMIC
So i have decided to go Ebay FMIC, but i need to find out what size i need.
Will have it for a bit with the stock k03, but will eventually move to GT28RS Want it to fit in stock bumper with minimal/no cutting. Also, i have heard 2.5" piping is the smallest i can go for Big turbo, is that right? |
RE: Ebay FMIC
If you want minimum cutting, then a ebay kit isnt for you. Also you would need a rather large core to cool as efficiently as a denser core. 2.25 would be plenty big for piping on a gt28rs.

RE: Ebay FMIC
what was it, like 2.25" for no cutting?
|
RE: Ebay FMIC
you can only fit a 2' think core behind the stock bumper...and like cincy said 2.25' piping is plenty for a 28rs. i run an ebay fmic with my setup no problem

RE: Ebay FMIC
so a 2" thick one fits behind tbhe bumper? what other dimensions do i have to worry about? and do i have to get kit for a denser core?
|
RE: Ebay FMIC
You can buy a denser core, they will cost in the $300-500 range. And the only cores you are going to find that are 2" wide are tube and fin. They are great for preventing pressure drop and being able to make it thinner while still being effective. So basically you will have to do some trimming, how much depends on the width of the core.

RE: Ebay FMIC
hmmm okay. so i guess it jsut comes down to me getting the width and height down and get all the tubing.

RE: Ebay FMIC
with alot of work you can make it fit, but just take your time get go as small as you can go. thats my advice from when i did it

RE: Ebay FMIC
Haha well the whole point of this is to find what the smallest i can go is. i get the 2" depth, but i dont know what width and height i can go with.
