i have seen on ebay intercoolers for 54, just the intercooler itself, and there is also the intercooler piping kit for 52 also. do you think that would be legit????

No its garbage. A real FMIC costs like $1000. Something like this was just posted yesterday. For $60 bucks you cant expect anything. Pshhh "15-30hp gains!" yeah right.

yeah that is what i thought. would there be any way to just mount the stock intercooler in a better place to get more gains? i really want t get a fmic but its just too much money. all that i am planning on doing is giac flash, dv, new filter. do you think that i even need a FMIC??

No, you likely don't need one... with just a chip. Turbo upgrades warrant a FMIC, though... so if your plans change considerably, you'll likely end up needing one. For now though, spend the $ elsewere.
