How do fuse taps work for our cars..anything special i should know before attempting to do it with a friend of mine..trying to hardwire a radar detector..

Well, you could tsp into a switched power fuse at the box, or tap into the switched power in the map/sunroof control panel. It's a shorter run. If you tap into a fuse in the box, just run the ground directly to something metal that reads 0 ohms of resistance.

 

is there any crtain slot i should use from the box??
